RescuRoll FAQs
Frequently asked questions
RescuRoll is a modular vehicle recovery system designed to make immobile vehicles mobile again so they can be recovered safely.
The system is built around the RescuRoll MultiFit Wheel, which can be used on its own for wheel and tyre issues, or combined with the RescuRoll FreeWheeling Hub when a vehicle’s wheels will not rotate due to mechanical, electrical, or brake issues.
RescuRoll is typically used when a vehicle:
· Has a puncture and no spare wheel
· Has a damaged or missing wheel
· Is stuck in Park
· Has an electronic parking brake fault
· Has seized brakes
· Has transmission or drivetrain failure
· Is an electric vehicle with no battery charge
· Cannot be put into neutral
· Cannot be rolled or winched normally
In simple terms, RescuRoll turns a non-rolling vehicle into a rolling vehicle so it can be safely recovered.
The RescuRoll MultiFit Wheel is a universal spare wheel designed to fit a wide range of vehicles using interchangeable adapters and spacers.
The process is simple:
1. Remove the damaged or unusable wheel.
2. Select the correct adapter for the vehicle bolt pattern.
3. Fit the RescuRoll MultiFit Wheel.
4. The vehicle can then be moved, driven at limited speed (50mph/80kmh) short distances, or loaded onto a recovery vehicle.
This removes the need for recovery operators to carry multiple spare wheels for different vehicles.
The FreeWheeling Hub is an accessory that is used together with the RescuRoll MultiFit Wheel and cannot be used on its own.
It allows the wheel to rotate freely without turning the vehicle’s drivetrain. This is essential when a vehicle’s wheels will not rotate due to mechanical or electronic issues.
It is particularly important for:
· Electric vehicles
· Automatic vehicles stuck in Park
· Electronic parking brake failures
· Seized brakes
· Transmission failures
· Drivetrain damage
· Vehicles that cannot be put into neutral
· Accident-damaged vehicles
When fitted with the MultiFit Wheel, the FreeWheeling Hub allows the vehicle to roll freely so it can be recovered without dragging it.
RescuRoll is designed to be compatible with a very wide range of vehicles, including:
· Passenger cars
· Electric vehicles (EVs)
· Hybrid vehicles
· Vans
· Light commercial vehicles
· Automatic vehicles
· Front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, and all-wheel drive vehicles
Compatibility is achieved by selecting the correct adapters and spacers to match the vehicle’s bolt pattern (PCD), centre bore, and offset requirements.
RescuRoll is supported by a fitment database and selection app, which helps operators quickly identify the correct adapter and spacer combination for each vehicle. This ensures safe fitment, reduces guesswork, and speeds up roadside recovery operations.
The product range is continuously evolving, with new adapters, spacers, and fitment solutions being developed in collaboration with customers and recovery operators. As new vehicles are introduced to the market - particularly electric vehicles and vehicles without spare wheels - the RescuRoll system is updated to cover as many vehicles as possible.
Our aim is to provide coverage for the vast majority of vehicles on the road, and the system continues to expand as new vehicle fitments are identified and added to the database.
RescuRoll is primarily designed for:
· Roadside recovery operators
· Breakdown services
· Fleet operators
· Workshops and garages
· Emergency services
· Vehicle logistics companies
It should be used by trained or competent operators who understand safe lifting, wheel fitting, and recovery procedures.
Yes. RescuRoll is particularly useful for electric and hybrid vehicles because many EVs cannot be towed or rolled when:
· The battery is flat
· The vehicle is stuck in Park
· The motor cannot rotate
· The electronic parking brake cannot be released
Using the MultiFit Wheel together with the FreeWheeling Hub allows the wheel to rotate freely without turning the electric motor, preventing damage and allowing safe recovery.
Adapters and spacers are selected based on:
· Bolt pattern (PCD)
· Centre bore
· Wheel offset
· Brake caliper clearance
· Vehicle type
RescuRoll provides compatibility information, training, and technical support to help users select the correct configuration.
A fitment application is developed and deployed in certain cases and can be discussed with our team on request.
RescuRoll is designed as a recovery and mobility device, not as a permanent replacement wheel.
It is typically used for:
· Short-distance vehicle movement
· Recovery operations
· Moving vehicles to safe locations or onto transporters
Use on public roads depends on local regulations and recovery use guidelines.
Training is recommended to ensure:
· Correct adapter selection
· Correct spacer setup
· Safe installation of the MultiFit Wheel
· Correct use of the FreeWheeling Hub
· Safe recovery procedures
· Avoiding vehicle damage
Training, demonstrations, and onboarding are available for fleets and recovery organisations.
Yes. RescuRoll is specifically designed for vehicles that:
· Have damaged wheels
· Have missing wheels
· Have seized brakes
· Are stuck in Park
· Have transmission failures
· Have drivetrain damage
· Have electronic faults preventing wheel rotation
· Are electric vehicles with no battery charge
Using the MultiFit Wheel alone or together with the FreeWheeling Hub allows these vehicles to be moved safely.
RescuRoll is designed to work with a very wide range of:
· Wheel sizes
· Bolt patterns (PCDs)
· Centre bores
· Offsets
However, compatibility depends on having the correct adapters and spacers for the vehicle. New adapters and spacers can be developed for additional vehicle applications if and when required.
Yes. When a vehicle’s wheels will not rotate due to:
· Seized brakes
· Electronic parking brake faults
· Transmission issues
· Electric vehicle drivetrain lock
· Accident damage
The MultiFit Wheel used together with the FreeWheeling Hub allows the wheel to rotate freely so the vehicle can be recovered without dragging it.
Yes. Training and onboarding can include:
· Product overview
· Adapter and spacer selection
· MultiFit Wheel installation
· FreeWheeling Hub installation
· EV recovery procedures
· Safe recovery best practices
Training can be provided on-site, during product rollout, or through demonstrations and training materials.
RescuRoll is commonly used in:
· Roadside recovery and breakdown services
· Vehicle recovery operators
· Police and emergency services
· Vehicle logistics and transport
· Fleet operators
· Automotive workshops and garages
· Electric vehicle fleets
· Insurance and accident recovery companies
· Vehicle testing facilities
